Asha nilaya Arogya Dham which means home of health and hope, was established in the year 2000, in the rural village Rangwasa, Indore, and Madhya Pradesh. The sole objective of this centre is to bring health and hope to those in need. The initial plan and purpose was to develop an herbal garden mainly to facilitate training programmes on Ayurveda systems of medicines and to set up a model garden, for the people to learn and replicate in their own homes, with the Motto of “PEOPLES HEALTH IS IN PEOPLES HANDS”.

Srs. Clarissa, Jyoti, and Sr.Jovita were the pioneers. From the year 1999, we have been looking after the differently abled children. This project caters to the Education, medication and Rehabilitation of the differently abled children. During the course of the years we had looked after more than 250 children and out of them 35 children were kept with us in the centre, and were educated in nearby schools.

Meanwhile, Arian Trust from Bombay came with the offer to help our old age home attached to our Ayurveda centre. The Old Age Home was ready by the year 2004 and on 16th April 2004, we received our first inmate, Alak Nanda Pathak from Delhi, diagnosed with Down syndrome, who is still with us now. At present we have 15 Inmates out of them 7 are mentally disturbed and undergoing Psychiatric treatments. Some have their families while others have no Families and identity.

Activities undertaken by our centre for the past 25 years:

1. Preparation of Herbal home remedies and Training in treating minor illness for the health workers of villages in the state of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
2. Ayurveda Panchakarma Treatment
3. Kinder garden for the children of our parishioners.
4. Home for the Homeless- poor abandoned women’s old age home
5. Janvikas project for the Differently abled children of Indore District.
6. Skill Development programme for the xth and xiith school dropout children
7. Socio – Pastoral Activities at St. Norbert Parish church- Rangwasa.
8. Monetary Teachers Training for xth and xiith passed girls.
9. Family counselling and free tuition class for our staff’s children.
10. Visiting the families of our parishioners and patients.

Chronicles of Activities undertaken by Ashanilaya:

In the year 2000, The Pioneer of Ashanilaya are Sr.Clarissa, Jyoti,Jovita and Sudha along with four Differently abled children studying in St.Norbert’s Hr.Sec.School. Herbal garden, Herbal Medicine Training, Allopathy and Ayurvedic clinic, Farming and Socio pastoral works were undertaken by the sisters.

In 2005 two new inmates for the Old age home arrived. Residential Herbal medicine Training programme started. Family visit, Sacristy work, Tuition for staff children and disabled children. Stitching Lillian Fonds (Janvikas) programme began.

In 2007 few senior sisters joined our community as we got old age home fund from Ariyan Trust. Sr.Nirmala after completing her B.A.M.S degree joined the center as an Ayurvedic Doctor. This year we had 15 inmates and 20 Differently abled children. 11 of them attending Government school and others St.Norbert School. SCC meetings, Sunday Catechism, Village visiting, Janvikas project, herbal Training programme, Sacristy work , Novices exposure programme, elderly women care and Tuition class for children etc. kept all the sisters young and the old busy and meaningful in religious life. In spite of their busy schedule sisters were always faithful to their prayer life and other spiritual activities which strengthened them and kept them faithful and successful.

In 2009 we celebrated the Silver jubilee of Sr.Arpita and golden jubilee of Sr.Ignatious. An Eye camp was organized at our centre by janahith vikas sanstha Indore in Memory of Dr.Dhaneria. We had the priviledge of visiting the Note press at Dewas . International Disabled day celebrated on 14th and 15th January 2010.

In 2010 The Janvikas project at Ashanilaya had 180 children in and around Indore covering nearly 300 villages. Out of these 95 children are regular students in private and government schools and others included in Income generating programme. Sisters regularly visit them in their homes and schools and provide necessary help and support, conduct regular meetings and health camps, maintain the records of children assisted by SLF project, Celebrate Differently abled day at District and State level, Attend Training programmes conducted by the Organization.

In 2013 Disabled day was celebrated at Kurdha school as most of the differently abled children are from there. Two new solar water tank was installed this year. We also started a new project for the xth drop out girls on tailoring and Basic computer course along with special tution for passing class X through NCET.  

In 2015 Skill development programme for the Xth drop out poor children were undertaken on trial basis. Six girls stayed in the Centre and learned Tailoring and Basic Computer class along with Spoken English and helped them to clear their class 10 through private exam.. Mr.Anil banerji and Miss.Priyanka Babor were kind enough to take the class for them voluntarily. Few girls from the remote villages were provided accommodation and food along with Montessori teachers training after their class X and XII. We also conducted HRD programme on 16th and 17th October along with carrier counselling for the school drop out children. Resourse person was Mr.Zahir Khan M.S.W from Panigau along with his team members. 50 students along with their parents participated.

In 2019 on trial basis we started Ayurvedic clinic at Robert’s Nursing Home for a period of one year.  Bible convention for 3 days arranged by the Diocese of Indore every year. Monthly Diocession recollection also were arranged by the Diocese regularly for all the religious.

In 2020 along with the whole world our Centre also experienced the side effects of the Deadly Corona virus which changed our lifestyle as well as creative mode of functioning. Differently abled children’s project came to an end, Renovation of the building was done, Online programmes were conducted, Ayurveda centre got the registration by M.P state council,  Old age home registration process began, Many well-wishers visited our centre and helped in various ways, close by schools supported by providing provision. We bagan devotion to Mercy rosary , psalm 91 and Regular rosary at 3.30pm for various intentions. This year we had 3 candidates with us before going to Simrol candidate house.

In 2022 Sesquicentinal celebration of our congregation. Helped few poor families with monthly grocery. Chapel renovation done. Road to staff quarters and cow shed were also repaired.

In 2023 International Senior citizen’s day was celebrated on 1st October by the NSS students of Government College –Rau. They conducted cultural programme and refreshment. We also had visit from the students of Vidyangan Acadamy of Silicon city in November. On 9th December Students of St.Mary’s Hr.Sec.School MHOW visited our centre , gave cultural programmes and donated provision to our centre. Priyanka thahir wedding on 18th February held at St.Norbert’s church and reception at Ashanilaya.

In 2024 on January 24th the Employees of Endo India for formulation from Pithampur paid a visit to our centre and spend some time with our inmates by interacting with them and listening to their stories. From the month of February Billian Hearts are beating Association provide regular medicines and conduct health camp twice a year.

In 2025 our old age home and Ayurveda clinic were registered under state government of Madhyapradesh. We are blessed with local benefactors and our Mhow province for providing us with financial support to run this institute smoothly. Every month various activities are conducted for our inmates to keep them healthy and happy like, yoga , picnic, health camp etc..
